Pipeline compressor / direct inlet (PDI)
This single-stage centrifugal compressor by Dresser-Rand is typically used in natural gas pipeline services. It is a pipeline direct inlet model with a standard case pressure rating of 1,500PSIG. This type of compressor works using a direct inlet/overhung impeller to enables flange-to-flange efficiency to 90%. A wide selection of horsepowers and flows is available. The PDI accommodates multiple drive configurations. Standard components include bearings, instrumentation, head, shaft and seal. The case allows for either right-hand or left-hand discharge orientation. The piping load requirements of 6th and 7th editions of API 617 are exceeded by this compressor.
