The high-speed elecrtic induction motor was engineered by Curtiss Wright EMD. It comes in both single-stage and multi-stage beam-style varieties. The motor can either be cooled by natural gas or hydrogen. The in-lining piping flanges allow for single-stage compressor settings. It also has various speeds, is hermetically sealed, and has magnetic bearings for both the compressor and the motor.
