The Omron's D5C only needs a small force to be activated which enables detection of micro defelections, thin-plate conductors as well as thin wires. It can also be used with non-conductors by simply connecting indirectly to the ground. The devices also have a standard in-built amplifier, sensitivity adjustment, operation indicator and have diameters of 18mm only. They also use freely replaceable antenna with a screw mounting. There is also a replaceable antenna with screw mounting and a free attachment to allow altering of antenna.
