Type 2 surge arrester - ETITEC A series
ETITEC surge arresters protect electrical installations and devices against overvoltage effects which may occur in switching overvoltages and atmospheric discharges. The ZnO non-linear varistor is the main part of the surge arrester while its main characteristic is ohmic non-linearity which strongly depends on the applied voltage at the clamps.Each arrester has a modular construction and a special feature of an interchanging varistor part and visual signalization for varistor thermical failure. When failure occurs, the signalization is performed with a red flag. The models which feature the RC mark are supplied with auxiliary contacts for signalization.
ETITEC A are surge arresters suitable for outdoor mounting. Group A overvoltage protection complies with VDE class C and the protection corresponds to the IEC category II. Capable of discharging enormous pulse currents, protection is provided on power lines. Thermal protection will be activated in cases of permanent arrester damage.
