Whether they are needed for test purposes and for proving batteries, transformers, generators, power generation aggregates and power supply units or as load bank for your test field Ruhstrat offers you an economic solution for each kind of application.

Power values of several MW under permanent operation as well as special constructions can be implemented. The devices which are in most of the cases customized products can be equipped with any kind of step control, regulation, measurement and control unit.

Upon request also an inductive and/or capacitive component can be added to the load resistors, in order to simulate different kinds of load with various phase differences or certain idle (reactive) powers with generators, switching, contactor or control loadings.

Included in Ruhstrat's line of power resistor components, Laboratory Resistors all feature bottom plates and rubber feet. These apparatuses are also integrated with shock-tolerant earthing terminals and Ruhstrat binding posts, and safety coverings. These features allow Ruhstrat's Laboratory Resistors to be used in certain academic-related institutes, such as universities, colleges and other schools.

Fixed resistor element - 500 W

The Ruhstrat Resistor elements have the resistance between 8.8 mOhm to 6.2 Ohm. These grids have a continuous output that is approximately 500 W. The plates of the product can be in series or in parallel mode. Because of this any possible resistance value can be attained with a higher speed and with lesser efforts. A standard stainless steel resistor is available as well as our alloyed version.

The wire-wound power is a variable resistor manufactured by Ruhstrat. It has a long service life and provides reliability for winding applications.

The dissipation of heat is improved when a layer of special cementation is made, which mechanically fixes the windings. In addition, it also protects the windings from other influences.

To match resistance values on the windings, adjustable clips are provided for use.

The capacitors for power factor correction are designed as per IEC 60831-1/2 and UL810 standards. The unit contains self-healing metalized polypropylene film, internal over pressure security device and internal discharge resistors in three-phase units, modules and banks. The capacitors allow maximum 10kA fault current and smaller than 0,4 W/kVAr dielectric losses. The Three-phase capacitors bank come with BCW-P protection.

These coupling capacitors have 2 types: CCA for standard capacitance, and CCB for extra high capacitance. These are applied mainly for power line carriers. Identical to the capacitor voltage dividers type CSA and CSB are the capacitor and insulator designs but doesn't bear an intermediate voltage terminal. DC dry-type capacitors are completely oil free, and therefore minimize the need for extra spillage collectors or sewer installation. No flammable fluids are present, therefore the system is fire-proof. Transport is safe, as there are no chemicals or impregnation fluids. The ABB capacitors are smaller, but have twice the capacity of earlier models, making them an excellent choice for cost-effective power processes.

The MSP surge protector from ABB serves to protect insulation stress laid at every turn in heavy load industrial applications such as large motors and generators, dry-type transformers and medium-voltage switchgear. The surge protector has a compact welded 11-gauge metal enclosure housing within which a surge arrester and a heavy-duty surge capacitor are assembled, and can be further customized by incorporating fuses and other protection parts.

The MSP surge protector is suitable for voltages between 2.4kV and 24kV and provides provide high transient overvoltage withstanding and a long life. It is also equipped with a hinged and padlockable front door, removable cable entry plates and outdoor NEMA 3R enclosure.
