Inductive voltage transformer - 52 - 170 kV | EMF

Inductive voltage transformer - 52 - 170 kV | EMF
ABB AG The EMF inductive voltage transformer is one of the most popular voltage transformers used by power networks with grounded or insulated neutral points. Over 60,000 units have already been delivered since the year 1940.

It has extremely low core flux density that allow the EMF to withstand constant overvoltages. The overdimensioned core will counteract ferresonance effectively, of both sub-harmonic and harmonic types.

The windings and the core will be placed in the aluminum tank. EMF will be filled with mineral oil and quartz. The expansion vessel that has no moving parts will be placed on top of the porcelain. A nitrogen cushion will be used to compensate the oil expansion. This design needs neither inspection nor maintenance.

The EMF is capable of surviving the worst situations where other voltage transformers will break down. EMF is available with silicon rubber insulators which give an even better performance in polluted environments.
