Cooled housing / photo multiplier tube - 654

Cooled housing / photo multiplier tube - 654
McPherson, Inc. Photomultiplier Tubes (PMTs) are widely known for their extremely sensitive photon detection capabilities. They have applications in a wide range of spectroscopy applications. They possess large photosensitive areas, secondary emission multiplication, low dark noise and fast time response . Different tube design (head-on/side-on) and techniques (large photosensitive areas, secondary-emission multiplication, low dark noise and fast time response) in PMT enables them to detect Extreme Vacuum Ultraviolet to Near Infra-Red spectrum, including Visible Light. The side-on design, where light enters from the side of PMT, is quite commonly used.

Model 654 PMT Housing Assembly accommodates such side-on PMTs with diameters up to 28 mm and active in the wavelength range 30–1100 nm. The assembly accommodates scintillator for use in detection of 30nm light, and linear detectors for use in the range 30–300nm. The housing is a sturdy structure providing excellent electrical noise (RF) shielding, with attachments to fit McPherson slit assemblies, O-rings to ensure light-tight operation, and connectors for current output and high voltage input.
