AC fan / DC
Omega's AC/DC feeder fans have an engine pilotage in DC, and features a low running temperature rise that improves the life of the bearings. This means that the life span of the AC/DC triples when compared to the standard AC fan with similar PQ. There is a zero rise in temperature under the locked rotor condition. The AC/DC fan motor is protected electronically. Engineered from a lightweight rugged construction, the motor temperature requirements are low and means the glass filled PBT is sufficient . Normally the AC/DC is able to provide the same PQ as conventional AC fans using only 25% of the power, which means this provides fast payback. This unit speed is independent of the AC source, frequency being 50Hz or 60Hz, and is able to operate up to as much as 400 Hz. The maximum PQ (pressure x air volume) is doubled when compared to standard AC fans .
