For harsh environments such as Ex-zone or for food applications, there are stainless steel versions of these inductive proximity sensors available. These sensors are designed to detect metal objects and are contactless. The family of datalogic automation inductive sensors offers an ideal solution to a variety of market requirements, as they are available in wide range of rectangular or cylindrical sensors.

As for the set switching distance, one or two are available with the sensors as well as connection models with two to four wires. Additional options include a version with a cable or connector and short, standard housing.
