The new HDmag flex magnetic belt encoder uncovers a complete new approach in precise angle measurement and speed feedback of large shafts. The pre-designd HDmag flex is suitable for virtually unlimited shaft diameter. Almost any encoder variant is immediately available, even single of units without causing initial cost.

The magnetic belt with high-precision encoding is custom designed in the factory in line with the shaft diameter. The device is tightly wound up in the packaging for safe transport. The magnetic belt is buckled like a belt and secured by snap lock on the drive or generator shaft. Since the shaft remains in place, any detachment and re-adjustment cost is significantly saved.

They can be used with all common bus interfaces such as Profibus DPV1/2, DeviceNet, ProfiNet and CANopen interface EtherNet/IP, and Modbus which are provided. Multiturn absolute rotary encoder / magnetic - 25 bit | RM series

Absolute multiturn encoders for industrial environments from ifm are the latest versions of the magnetic encoder.

The use of magnetic sensing principles achieve a very compact design in comparison to optical encoders. At the same time, there is no compromise on any of the widely-accepted features of the absolute multiturn encoder.

The encoder allows conversion of 8,192 revolutions into a single absolute position value. It features a 25-bit resolution, 4,096 steps and a SSI communication interface.

The gearless system employs the Wiegand effect. In the event of a power failure, even without battery buffer it allows the position values to stay on. This ensures passing on of the exact position to the controller with no need of referencing.

Two solid shaft versions are available. One version has the hollow shaft opening into one side.
