The new Astraios is one of the world's most modern,huge and highest performing large-size bearing test rig. It enables enables large-size bearings of up to 15 tons, measuring up to 3.5 meters just like the ones used in wind power applications specifically tested using a comprehensive simulation program. The Astraios possesses high reliability and cost-effectiveness for wind turbines which simulates the real moments and loads occurring in a wind turbine. You can test all rotor bearings concepts for wind turbines of up to 6 MW. The new test rig enhances the whole experience while understanding the systems as a whole and influences factors and the interrelations in the drive trains of wind turbines.
