The RollerFORM is a phased array wheel probe offered by Olympus. Its designed for handling the inspection of smooth-surfaced materials and composites. An inexpensive replacement for full 2D encoding systems, this probe is an ideal alternative to immersion techniques. Its unique tire material has been developed to ensure immersion-type ultrasonic testing. Inspection of composites with a thickness of up to 50-mm is enabled with the 25-mm water delay line. Additional advantages include amazing coupling, wide beam coverage up to 51.2-mm wide, strong signal capabilities, and acoustic impedance that is similar to water.
