Mixed-flow extensometer / miniature - ø max. 12 mm | 3442 series
The 3442 miniature extensometers are small and rough, but lightweight units. These are generally used for testing small and fragile samples. The units are suitable for several biomedical tests, and wire and thin sheet materials. Furthermore, the unit is also useful for low cycle fatigue testing, in which brief samples are used.
The extensometers weigh 8 grams each. They create low speciemen contact force and influence, due to their low operating force. In addition, the units utilize an Epsilon proprietary dual-flexure construction, making them sturdy for their size.
Most of the extensometers are just 0.6 inches tall or as high as 15.25 mm. They can fit in the small space between grips, which typically happens when small test samples are used.
The Model 3442 extensometers are strain-gaged instruments, which makes them compatible with any electronics, developed for strain-gaged transducers.
