HORIBA Scientific Horiba's MESA-7220 is an x-ray fluorescence that employs sulfur and chlorine. Accuracy and precision within short measurement times is ensured through a high count rate processing capability. The typical test time is at 3 min per sample for less than 50 ppm concentration. However, it only takes less than 2 minutes to process a sample with a concentration above 50 ppm.

The instrument can also simultaneously detect limits for S and Cl in low ppm, with the upper range in the % level. Varied results are avoided through a new technology which eliminates oxygen interference. Routine operation functions can be viewed through the instrument's touchscreen graphical user interface. A mouse and a keyboard can also be plugged into the device through a USB port installed into the instrument.
