The Thermo-Scientific Surfer is a specific surface area and pore size analyzer that distinguishes and measures microstructural properties of solids and powders by using static volumetric gas adsorption under contained temperature and pressure conditions. Surface area and pore size are important especially for a material's dissolution and/or reaction capacity. The Surfer is ideal for operations concerning very small pore sizes- among the range of meso and micro pores. Examples of these are applications in substances such as activated carbon and zeolites. More so, it is also usable in applications that need to gather a material's surface area and pore dimensions.
