The Set CV by Siemens is designed for determining the quality of natural gas. Siemens provides a standardized system that fulfills the demands from sample probe, high pressure reduction and sample conditioning system through quality determination with process gas chromatograph SITRANS CV. The global energy demand is growing, while at the same time the fossil fuel reserves are decreasing. Natural Gas is a fossil energy source with large reserves.
From production, through distribution network to end users, the quality of natural gas is evaluated at multiple points. This includes identifying the monetary value for trade purposes, for creating a natural gas mix from multiple natural gas sources with a particular quality, or for optimizing combustion process efficiency. The key indicators that need determining are caloric value, relative density and Wobbe Index.
