SolidWorks SustainabilityXpress is intended to further the understanding of environmental impact of specific design decisions as it enables screening level life cycle assessment (LCA) for individual part designs. This tool is a standard part of any of the SolidWorks 3D CAD design packages that include premium, professional, and standard versions. Trough the use of basic parameters such as manufacturing process and region this tool conducts calculations to determine the carbon footprint, total energy demand and impact to air and water in order to provide a base-line for comparing further design changes. It features a large SolidWorks material database to offer alternatives that comply with the specified mechanical and environmental criteria. In addition it provides automatic report generation.
