The Industrial Ethernet Layer 3 switch SCALANCE XM408-4C is a basic unit with altogether 8 ports, of which 4 are combo-ports for plug-in transceivers with SC and ST/BFOC connector technology. ST and SC Pluggables are plug-in transceivers with ST/BFOC or SC connector technology, specially for a connection to existing cables.
Support is provided for the 10/100/1000 Mbit technology with different transmission media (twisted pair, fiber optic). The main application areas are high-performance plant networks (control level).
