Westermo Wolverine DDW-226 is useful for allowing creation of effective Ethernet networks at data rates up to 15.3 Mbit/s. Subject to characteristics of the cable, distances as long as up to 15 km (9.3 mi) can be achieved. The SHDSL technology generates significant cost advantages by reusing multiple pre-existing cables made of copper. Legacy equipment is enabled to become a component of an IP backbone network using the aggregation of WeOS and the integrated RS-232 port.
